DR. TIMOTHY MURRAY NAMED CEO OF OFS Norcross, Georgia, June 16, 2008 — OFS today announced that its Board of Directors has elected Timothy Murray, 56, as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, effective June 20, 2008. Dr. Murray currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of the company. Dr. Murray will succeed Mr. Katsuhiko Murota. Mr. Murota has been nominated to serve on the board of directors of The Furukawa Electric Co., Ltd. (FEC). He will also become President of the Telecommunications Company of FEC. Murray, a 30 year veteran in advanced materials based industries, has spent the past 7 years at OFS and its predecessor Lucent Technologies. Before being appointed CEO and his prior assignment as COO, Dr. Murray was President of Operations and Engineering for North American operations for the telecommunications business of OFS and headed the OFS Specialty Photonics business. Prior to joining Lucent in October 2000, Mr. Murray had a range of general management, marketing, sales, business development and R&D management positions at ATMI; AMP; ICI PLC; and E.I. Du Pont de Nemours Inc. He has managed the development, launch and growth of a number of businesses in the electronic materials, advanced electronic manufacturing services and medical equipment markets. Mr. Murray has a B.S. in Chemistry from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Ph. D. in Organometallic Chemistry from Princeton University. He is married with three children and lives in Simsbury, Connecticut.
