OFS ALIGNS LEADERSHIP AROUND BEST PRACTICES

Norcross, Georgia, May 7, 2007 - OFS, designer, manufacturer, and supplier of leading edge fiber optic products, today announces that has realigned its organization to enhance its focus on customers, while improving efficiencies and leveraging best practices, from both OFS and parent company, Furukawa Electric Company, across all operations.

William Kloss has been named President, Telecommunications Marketing and Sales for North America, Caribbean and Latin America for OFS’ fiber, cable and connectivity products.

Timothy Murray, has been named President, Operations and Engineering.  In this role he will focus on optimising operational efficiencies for fiber, cable and connectivity products and their respective factories.  Murray will continue to head OFS’ Specialty Photonics business.

Reinhard Schmidt, has expanded responsibilities as Managing Director International Cable Operations for Europe, Middle East and Africa.  In this capacity he will lead Sales and Marketing for OFS’ European Cabling and Connectivity business as well as operational responsibility for the Augsburg, Germany and Voronezh, Russia cable factories.

Dr. David DiGiovanni continues to lead our OFS Laboratories. OFS Laboratories is the center for innovation and future market enabling technology development.
